What is a Web Service?
Etere Web Services is a REST/SOAP Web API exposed by each federated site, allowing remote sites to invoke functions directly on that system over HTTP/HTTPS. A local site calls the remote site's Web API to execute operations (e.g. attach, start, abort, reset) without requiring direct database access. This is particularly useful when a local site holds federated assets previously imported from a remote site, enabling it to trigger required functions (e.g. file transfer) on that remote site.

How Web Services Enable Federated Management
Etere's federated Web Services allow sites to automatically share assets across geographically distributed locations, letting users manage remote assets as if local. Federated sites share data and content through T-workflow execution on remote sites.

Three operational steps govern the federated workflow between Local Site (A) and Remote Site (B):
1. Configuration — Site A sets connection parameters to the remote site; Site B exposes its Web API endpoint to allow remote management of its T-workflows and devices. (See Chapter §98.1 images 1399 1611 setting.jpg)
2. Import/Export — Site A configures Etere F90 to auto-import assets from remote sites; Site B configures Etere F90 to auto-export assets to other sites.
3. Remote Workflow — Site A attaches and launches a T-workflow in Site B to manage remote assets and automatically retrieve media files related to imported assets. (Use Remote Workflow Action See §59.3.9.70)
