When a device became obsolete, you can use the "Delete" function to remove the device from the system resource list.
1. Launch Configuration > Resources Editor and open the resource (e.g. srv13) and check if it contains any volume (e.g. VOL1: \\computer2\video\archive\):
•If one or more volumes are found, continue to the step 2.
•If no volume is configured for the computer, go to step 6.
2. Open the Metadevice editor and create a new metadevice (e.g. metatemp), move all volume(s) configured on the resource to be deleted into the new metadevice.
3. Open Ingest > Delete and logically remove all files from the just created metadevice (e.g. metatemp) which contains the resource's volume(s).
4. Back on the Resources Editor, open the Metadevice editor and move volume(s) from the new metadevice (e.g metatemp) to System Storage (volumes will be set as not used).
5. While in the Resources Editor, open the resource to be deleted (e.g. srv13) and remove all the volume(s) set on it.
6. Delete the resource using the "Delete" function. Additionally, in case the resource is an Etere PC, it will be required to go to the Configuration > Etere PC's section and delete the computer from the system's activation list.
