The Metafile Filters section in EtereWeb is a configuration tool used to define how media files are selected and processed within both Etere Studio Player and Nunzio workflows. It is not limited to Nunzio only, but is also actively used by Etere Studio Player to determine which file versions of each asset must be used during playout.
This mechanism ensures that the correct media representation is selected according to system rules, codec availability, and configured resources.
In this section, users can:
Select an existing Metafile Filter profile | Create a new profile
Each profile defines a set of rules that control how media assets are interpreted and processed across Studio Player and Nunzio environments.
Within each profile, it is possible to configure:
Codecs used for media restoration and conversion | Cloud devices used for file retrieval, processing, and delivery
These settings define how the system reconstructs and prepares media files before they are used in playback or publication workflows.
The configuration ensures that assets are correctly interpreted, transcoded when necessary, and made compatible with both playout operations and external distribution channels.
Metafile Filters are applied in multiple workflows:
In Etere Studio Player, they determine which file version of an asset is used during playlist playback and playout operations | In Nunzio, they define how media is prepared and delivered when a story is published to external platforms or social media channels
When no Metafile Filter profile is selected, the system falls back to the default behavior based on codec priority settings defined in the system configuration.
If a Metafile Filter profile is defined:
The system selects media files according to the configured rules | Codecs and cloud devices are used to resolve and restore assets | The correct file version is delivered to Studio Player or Nunzio workflows
If no profile is configured:
The system uses the standard codec priority order defined in the system settings to select media files automatically.
The Metafile Filters section in EtereWeb is a configuration tool related to the Nunzio capability to publish a story on social media platforms (see Nunzio section 79.4.2.6 Platforms).
